Adele was the sister of Carl Ericsson.  DeWitt had come from Massachusetts to work at the aircraft factory
in San Diego, producing B-24s.  He and his brother boarded with the Ericssons until after the end of the War.

Dorothy wedding

Dorothy and John Clay were married in 1942 at College Avenue Baptist Church in San Diego.  John is wearing the uniform
of a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps.  He piloted B-26s during the war,  serving mostly in North Africa.
Though the editor attended this wedding, he knows only a few of the people.  In addition to John and Dorothy, Thelma is the Maid of Honor,
at Dorothy's right, and the last of the men on John's left is Byron Skalman.  If anyone can identify others in the group,
the editor will be happy to add their names.  Please contact him at daericsson@gmail.com.

        Organ

Photo taken in the sanctuary of the first building of College Avenue Baptitst Church, San Diego.
Dorothy was the pianist of the church as far back as I can remember.  When the church moved to College Avenue,
she became the organist.  The flag behind them was common in churches during World War II.  Each star represents
a member of the church who has been drafted into the armed forces.

Clay prayer card

After the War, Dorothy and John became missionaries in Africa.  Dorothy was a nurse, and John used his training as a pilot to transport missionaries and supplies.
Also in the photo is their daughter, Carolyn Sue.  This is the prayer reminder card they gave to their supporters.Clay furlough

Dorothy and John home on furlough, probably their first judging by Carolyn Sue's size.
